Minimum Rental: 28 Days 'Casa Dorado' is an exceptional privately owned single family home located directly on Florida Bay on Lower Matecumbe Key in Islamorada. The house is named after the owners' favorite species of fish, the Dolphinfish, also known as Dorado in Spanish speaking coastal areas. With the green roof and yellow stucco exterior, they felt like Casa Dorado was a fitting name for this Florida Keys home.

In 2014 when the current owners purchased this property they completely renovated the 1966 house turning it into a breathtaking waterfront home with quality furnishings and timeless decor.  Inside, this home now offers spacious living and dining areas, three master suites each with king beds and en-suite baths, a sitting area with gorgeous bay views, and a playroom with large TV and twin size trundle bed. Taking advantage of the setting they greatly enhanced the water views from the interior living areas. This home offers unobstructed water views! People come from all over the world to experience the incredibly gorgeous sunsets over Florida Bay. You will be able to personally experience them directly from this property. Outside, they added a custom heated freeform pool and outdoor entertainment area. The dock area and fish cleaning station have also been updated. You must provide the fish…but you may be able to catch something delicious to eat directly from the fishing pier.

The interior décor is reminiscent of a Cape Cod beach cottage with white tongue and groove wood paneling and a nautical theme with tropical colors throughout. You will find the décor not only pleasing to the eye but very comfortable and functional. The kitchen has all new custom cabinets, granite counters, updated stainless steel appliances, including a wine chiller and a custom designed built-in casual dining area. Formal dining is located in the converted screened balcony which is now an amazing sunroom overlooking the waterfront. A spacious sitting room located in the front of the home just off the kitchen offers a lovely area for the family to gather and watch TV or review the day's events and plan tomorrows. The 'L' shaped sectional sofa and two chairs provide plenty of seating. Built in cabinets and a large flat screen TV adds to the charm and functionality of this area.

If you cannot stay for a full month, we may be able to help you. Local restrictions prohibit us from renting this property more than once in a 28 day period. The owner may be willing to rent this home for less than a full month and block the remaining days. Give us a call for details.

Owner's Cancellation Policy :
  • Notice of cancellation by Guest:  Notice must be in writing and sent by U.S. Mail OR email.  If sent by email, the email must be acknowledged by the staff at Keys Holiday Rentals.  The date of acknowledgement by Keys Holiday Rentals will determine the date of notice. 
  • $150 cancellation fee is charged if written notice is received 61 – 89 days prior to arrival. Balance is refunded minus non-refundable charges and pre-paid insurances – travel or accidental damage.
  • $300 cancellation fee is charged  if written notice is received 60 days or less prior to arrival AND we are able to find another tenant for the same time period minus the non-refundable charges and pre-paid insurances – travel and accidental damage.  
  • No refunds if written notice is received 60 days or less prior to arrival and we are not able to find another tenant for the same time period.   
  • No refunds for early departure for any reason.
  • Notice of cancellation by Keys Holiday Rentals:  If it becomes necessary for Keys Holiday Rentals to cancel a reservation due to unforeseen circumstances, Keys Holiday Rentals will notify Guest promptly and refund 100% of all deposits and payments except insurances.  Immediate notice will be given by phone and/or email and followed by written notice via Certified Mail to address on the Rental Agreement.

Rate Details:  $18,500/month or $6,000/week with owner’s approval.    If your plans are for less than a month we may be able to help with other properties.   Please call the office.   Additional Charges:  $380 departure cleaning fee; reservation fee 3.9% of base rent;  and 12.5% state and local taxes.  Refundable Security Deposit:  $2,000.  Utility Caps/Mo:   $300 water and $200 electricity.  Travel Insurance: This is an optional service offered through CSA Travel Protection.  For details please click contact us.  Accidental Damage Insurance:  This insurance is also optional.   The price is $45 per reservation and covers up to $3000 of accidental damage to the propert

Beautiful home with great access to boat launch and dockage at the house. Very neat and clean and every amenity you could want. Had some AC problems that Keys Holiday Rentals handled quickly and professionally. My family will return. By the way, the fishing from the seawall at the house was great. This was our second stay at Casa Dorado.

Return to Casa Dorado was awesome!
This is the third time we have stayed at Casa Dorado. It is a beautiful home in an amazing location. If you like fishing, boating,diving, snorkling, and amazing sunsets this is the place to stay. The house has every amenity you could want including corkage for your boat. Restaurants,bars,shopping,and entertainment are all around. There is also a new Publix and West Marine close by that eliminates longer drives to every day shopping needs. The people at Florida Keys Rentals handle this property and are as professional as you will encounter anywhere. They handle my reservations with speed an accuracy. The house is in spotless order when we arrive and the agency always calls to make sure all is as expected. They respond quickly to any questions or needs we may have. My family will continue to work with them for future Keys trips. I highly recommend Florida Keys Rentals and Casa Dorado.
