PROPERTY Description

Home is in quaint river community of about 6 or 7 streets all dead end at the water. Home has 2 bedrooms, 1.5 baths, 1 bedroom has a double bed, other bedroom has a queen bed, with a full size sofa bed, living room has a chair that converts to a twin bed, & a comfy couch, so it could sleep 8. The kitchen has everything you need including microwave, coffee maker, toaster, mixer, blender, crockpot, pots-n-pans, etcetera. A gas barbecue is located under the carport. Please turn the gas OFF after you use the grill. Tax is included in rate & rental comes with 1 canoe and 2 kayaks-you'll save a bundle not having to rent. The house is clean and comfortable and the porch with the water view is great but really you need to get out on the river and experience true Old Florida at it's finest.

We just put a new dock and seawall in and you can fish right off the dock-permit maybe required, check with local fishing authorities to be sure.

Go to the right on the canal to reach the Weeki Wachee River. Once you get out of the quaint neighborhood the trip to the river is totally peaceful and serene, tranquil Old Florida at its finest. At the mouth of the river, the water is super clear. Many canoes and kayaks stop here and go for a swim. The water is a constant 72 degrees coming up out of the springs. Go to the left-up the river towards the headsprings or to the right-down river towards the Gulf. Both directions offer beautiful scenery, where you will more than likely encounter a manatee. The Gulf of Mexico is about 8 miles...

Be sure to check out the river. If you aren't comfortable in the kayak and canoes, just go to the Upper Deck and sit by the river, or Rogers Park and go in the river at the beach, or Pine Island or Bayport Beaches. You can also go to Weeki Wachee Springs Park and go out on a pontoon boat and usually you will see the manatees there as well.

The house has a manual inside with all the details of the house and checking out procedures as well as local restaurants and maps etcetera. There is a lockbox on the door for guests to check themselves in and out. Code will be given to you closer to your arrival date.

River House
The house is excellent. We saw a juvenile manatee munching away on the grass outside. During the day we headed to the state park and mermaids which is about a 5minute ride up the road. Inside the park are 3 water slides, a floating dock, boat ride, mermaid, show, bar and restaurant. We have 3 small children so that worked great for us. The kayak launch is in the same parking lot. In the evening we use the small fire pit to roast marshmallows and watch the birds settle into the trees. The house we perfect for our needs and close to everything we wanted to see!

Great little kayaking spot- in an excellent location!
My sister and I had a great time. They have thought of everything to make you feel at home. We thoroughly enjoyed it and would highly recommend!
