Relaxing Family Tme
Celebrating my 53rd birthday with my children. Even thou the home is older and needs alittle more updated decor. The home was full of warmth from a variety of outside games/ kayaks and most importantly the beauty of the river.
If we could ask for anything it would be internet /tv
But what the home did accomplish was allowed us to not focused on anything electronically, but good clean fun with our kids. The actual home owners were the best!
One more thing if the 'cleaners' could organize alittle better with matching sheets for each room that would of been nice.. We had to go through many drawers just to find sheets {not matching} just sheets.... Or beds already made for the guests when arriving...Its just little things like that that makes you feel special and cared for.. Just a suggestion...

More work than relaxation
My daughter wanted to spend her 18th birthday with some friends on the Rainbow River. I was shocked to find this place available at the peak of season; I quickly figiured our why. When you arrive be prepared to work! We had to make all of the beds and turn breakers on to get the water running. There were spiders everywhere! The entire front walk way was flooded which tracked mud throughout the house. The canoes/kayaks that were under the house were sitting in 4” of water and filled with roaches and spiders. There were no sheets that fit the queen size bed. Upon leaving, check out procedures require you to unmake all of the beds, put the towels outside in the laundry room, sweep the entire house which is lenolium flooring throughout, take the trash out and turn off the breakers. All of this left me wondering what the cleaning fee was for. Check in is not until 4:00 pm so I spent most of our first day working and the entire last day working so that I would get my security deposit back. Also, when you receive the confirmation the week before you are to check in, it is very intimidating. You are made aware of everything you CANNOT do or “you will be prosecuted.” We were not to cross certain boundaries at the neighboring properties, but we had people walking back and forth across our property the whole weekend. Neighbors to the left were jumping off their dock and swimming to our steps to exit the river while the neighbor to the right constantly walked across our yard to visit other neighbors. In the end, all that matters is that my daughter and her friends had a good time. I understand that nothing can be done about the flooding, but the house needs to be exterminated, the house should be 100% prepared for the guests arrival, guests should not be expected to pay for cleaning and then have to clean it themselves. The rules should apply to everyone, not just the renters; if I can’t cross the property boundary, then the neighbors shouldn’t either. And don’t threaten your renters with criminal prosecution, make them feel welcome and act like your happy to accommodate them.
