Good Location, Great Property and Even Better Owner
John was extremely helpful and jumped through some hoops to help us get into this property at the last minute. We had another property, that had been confirmed, fall through the night before check in. John accelerated cleanup of his place to get it ready for us. He met us at the property and described the property and the surrounding points of interest. Sadly the main pool was not open during our stay. The reopening following maintenance work was delayed. There is a lot of activity in the area and the traffic is typical Miami, but this property is high enough (22nd floor) to minimize any street noise that could become annoying. We enjoyed watching the active boat traffic traveling up and down the Miami River as well as watching the Manatee and her calf swimming up the river one afternoon.

Clean and stylish condo
The property appeared just like the photos posted online. Check in was easy as John met me directly on site to handle the process. The stay was terrific with excellent dining and amenities on the property.

Decent location, decent condo - just ask plenty of questions prior to booking!
Decent location, nice enough condo, nice enough owner - only if you agree with him, otherwise he is a pain! Like a recent review, I was very disappointed the pool area was under repair and not available since I had rented because of the pool area. Upon checking in, John informed me about the pool area being closed. Since we had no other recourse, we checked in and once John left we went to investigate the pool area on the 50 floor. It was NOTHING compared to the 9 photos on his listing showing the common pool area. Again, I had rented the unit because of the large pool area since I had enjoyed it on a previous hotel stay. Within an hour of checking in I called John and asked for a refund. He refused so I called VRBO/HomeAway customer service, who agreed with me and got busy helping me . VRBO/HomeAway deserves 5 stars because of the fees included in each rental they were able to re-book me into a better hotel unit with a beautiful pool and saved my vacation! I called and texted the owner about how to leave the keys and asking about my deposit. The owner was unaware that his 'read receipts' showed when he read my texts although I did not hear from him for 2 days, then he called demanding return of his keys. I priority mailed them back to him within an hour of finally getting his instructions. I am giving 3 stars because I did get my full deposit returned to me. Although, as a precaution my daughter took a video of the entire apartment prior to vacating it so if the owner decided to keep my deposit I would have proof of the condition we left the condo. Had I known what a hassle the entire process was going to be, I would have not rented this unit. If the pool had been available then it would have received more stars. The pool is supposed to be finished in June 2018? I have rented form VRBO MANY times and this is the first bad experience I have ever had.

Worst VRBO/HomeAway Experience Ever
I booked this property for a girls trip with my best friends from high school (three 34 year old moms). I have booked properties on HoneAway and similar websites many, many times so I did not have any concerns. I didn’t hear much from John after I booked other than what seemed like copy and pasted responses to a couple of questions. Three days before the trip, he messaged me and asked me to send him copies of our photo IDs. I’ve never had to do this before, so I went back and forth with him to determine why. He said the building needed them on file so we could use the amenities. I finally ended up sending him copies of our IDs with personal information blacked out. Upon receiving these via email he informed me that I sent them too late. He said the building needs them 72 hours in advance. This was the first time I heard that this was a time sensitive request. He said it would probably be fine. When we arrived at the apartment, John met us there and showed us around. As he was showing us the property he kept mentioning previous “damages” that other guests had allegedly incurred. He told us not to touch the walls and they had been recently painted. He also asked for my photo ID AGAIN and took a picture of it. I had a bad feeling, but we had already paid so there was no turning back. I kept asking him about pool access as he was showing us around, but was ignored. Finally before he left I asked him one last time. He said we could “probably” get in if we went to the rooftop pool and lied and told them we were residents. The next day I went up to the pool and found out that on weekends, only residents of floors 1-14 have pool access (we were on 22). So regardless of the IDs, we would not have had access to a pool as advertised. The other pool was closed for construction. We had a good weekend, the apartment is nice and in a good location. Before we left, I took pictures of all the rooms because I had a feeling he was going to try to pull something on us. We threw a load of laundry in, but there was no laundry soap available. That afternoon John sent me pictures of “scratches” on the white leather couch (1/2 inch black marks that could have been there before our stay and small enough for me not notice when I photographed the couch that morning), two towels with makeup on them (simply needed to be shouted and washed again) and a paper napkin in the toilet. I’m currently working with my lawyer to collect the $600 he still owes me.

An amazing condo with a great host
John was amazing!!! He was very helpful and did an amazing job welcoming us. He was also able to check us in early which was very nice of him. The place had a great view and it was in a great location - overall we loved it. The only downside was that there were no curtains in the living room which didn't make it easy for some of us sleep there in the morning, but it wasn't a big deal. The main pool was not open during our stay but there was a pool upstairs which we could use for a fee.

Amazing Condo with great Miami View
The best condo location within the main part of Brickell/Miami. Center point for all the local hot spots and fine dining. Our group was able to enjoy all of Ultra and Miami Music week.

Beautiful condo in a great location
The Icon Brickell consists of 3 buildings, one of which (the one I rented in) allows short-term rentals. I rented for 1 month (mid-Feb to mid-March) and the apartment was beautiful. Very modern, with a w/d, nice gym and spa next-door and multiple restaurants in the building or very close by. Although the restaurant across the river played music every night, it always stopped at 11pm and my sleep was quite good. Great city and Miami River/going out to Biscayne Bay views and awesome balcony. Whole Foods a 5-minute walk, Brickell City Centre a 10-minute walk, Citibikes on the corner, Metromover (free transport in Miami) a block away. All very convenient. Just a couple of negatives--(1) there were some monetary negotiations in the beginning that I didn't expect, but we ironed it out, (2) since I worked from the condo most days I heard the person on the loudspeaker who tells people to "get off the bridge" (there's a drawbridge nearby) about once per hour, (3) the pool was out of commission, but we were allowed to use the W Hotel pool next door. On the whole, very enjoyable stay and would recommend.

Amazing Apartmentq
The apartment is beautiful! It has a stunning view and the amenities included are wonderful. Although the listing states it can sleep 7 people, its more fitting for only 4. There's not much room in the living room for 3 people. My only complaint is the parking situation and the safety deposit. Parking is not included and you must use valet parking or find parking else where. The safety deposit takes sometime to be refunded back. Overall the unit was gorgeous and John was extremely professional and welcoming. I would definitely recommend it to a friend and will return sometime in the future.

a great condo in the heart of Miami
We have been coming to this condo for three years.each year we are always sorry to leave. The condo is well furnished with fine furniture and art through out the unit. There are always beautiful cars beautiful people and beautiful sights nearby. There is a wonderful Mexican Restaurant in the Viceroy complex,and you can walk other fine places. there are very good Peruvian restaurants nearby,as well as all other types of dining. This year we found great places with in walking distence of the complex. You dont need a car here,a free trolly cars will take you to the Art District as well as Coral Gables. As advertised the pool and spa are breath taking. Any one and every one will have a fine vacation . The property owener John is very helpful and quick to respond to any request

AMAZING place
The picture of this apartment is what initially drew me into this place.(actual Pictures) I love the décor, glass floor to wall windows etc. When I arrived I was greeted by John the owner who was extremely helpful, even give as a tour and help as an are needs. The views are breathtaking the apartment meticulous clean and came with everything we need. I really couldn`t imagine a nicer place to Stay and I traveled extensively. The SPA is probably the best Spa I ever seen and if you`ve never seen it I suggest googling it because it is ultra luxurious. The infinity pool is overlooking the water and the Hot tube is like a swimming pool, Besides the apartment been fantastic the staff were extremely nice. The building are probably the best in Miami but what really made the difference was the attention and care we received from John .Incredible Host. I recommend anyone staying here. This give this place 6 stars.

Precioso departamento
Me quedé 1 semana con mis hijas de 18 años, el departamento es mucho más bonito que en las fotos, además está situado en un conjunto de edificios que tienen todos los servicios imaginables, desde 3 albercas hasta fabulosos restaurantes y Spa. John es una persona muy amable, accesible, servicial, y siempre muy dispuesto a ayudar y aconsejar con cualquier problema. El departamento está en perfecto estado y muy bien localizado. Fue un placer pasar ahí nuestras vacaciones y por supuesto que volveremos la próxima vez que estemos en Miami

absolute perfection
We have spent the past two winters (JAN. Feb. March)in John,s condo and plan on returning for the winter of 2016. All the photos are accurate ,but not nearly as exciting as the real thing.One of my favorites is the beautifully lit Total Bank Building right outside the master bedroom window,it bathes you in differant color lights. My wife enjoyed overlooking the Miami River while sitting comfortly in the living room.The huge pool area is as scenic it could be ,it overlooks the river and Brickell key.John is always available if you need him,but we did,nt . The apartment is very clean,with high end furniture and amenities.John is the kind of landlord who replaced a perefectly good mattress in the guest bedroom with an even better Tempurpedic mattress. Mary Brickell Village is within walking distence,if you like Italian food try Perricones,if you like fusion try Dolores but you can call me Lolita.Both a short walk from the Condo.Try the peruvian restaurants,great food.we like Cvi Veche 100 downtown and on Lincoln Rd. in Miami Beach.Renting a Condo sight unseen is very stressful,John is the kind of landlord every body hopes to get.Enjoy

Beautiful time in Miami
My wife and I really had a wonderful time at your place John. Thanks for all of your assistance and we would recommend anyone here to enjoy all of the great amenities that are there to indulge in including the night club. We enjoyed the beautiful pool with poolside food and the people were great! We will definitely make it a continuous vacation place for us and now it feels great knowing we don't have to look any further when we are there.

Luxurious and great location
The apartament was incredible, love art decoration and amenities. The Spa was incredible, one of my favorites actually. The best is the location, there are so many spectacular restaurants, bars walking distance from The apartment. This place is one of the best places I have stayed in Miami.
